It’s All Over For CBGB’s On Halloween ‘06

Legendary punk haven CBGB’s has been given until Halloween next year to evacuate the premises.
It has not exactly been kept quiet over the past year that CBGB must find itself a new home, but now that an agreement has been settled on the official vacating of the building, club owner Hilly Kristal has begun to shop around for new venues.
Kristal told MTV News he had been considering locations everywhere from Manhatten to Vegas, and in an official statement said “CBGB will expand and continue to provide great new music for our fans and be a developing ground for new artists, as we've done for over 30 years.”
Although CBGB’s lease officially ended in August 31st this year, Kristal has been paying $16,000US a month on top of his usual rent to continue running the venue from its home of three decades.
